Gospel of Judas

There is certainly much attention being given to the Gospel of Judas by our mainstream media. From what I've gathered, this is a Gnostic writing that has been known to exist for 30 years and only now do we know its contents. It is amazing how this is supposed to teach us that early Christianity was diverse and pique our attention to get the whole story. One article mentions Iraneus debunking this writing as heretical in 180 A.D. Will there ever come a time when the media gives 1 hour for a rational Christian to show the basis for believing that the Christian Bible is consistent, historically reliable, and authoritative? Certainly the public would be interested in finding out (as I'm sure it is has never been fairly articulated) why millions of people over 2000 years have been willing to stake their lives on such a claim. Unforutantely, we are beyond such things, because it is obvious that our interests instead encompass each new discovery of a Gnostic heretic, so as to augment the "diversity" of Christianity.
