I failed to mention one important thing: Jesus did heal an amputee.

In three of the Gospel accounts (Matt, Luke & John), Jesus is recorded as having healed a man whose ear was just amputated by Simon Peter. The witness' accounts do not record Jesus as reattaching the ear. Rather, Luke only tells us that Jesus "touched his ear and healed him."

peace,

Also:
Then great multitudes came to Him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others; and they laid them down at Jesus’ feet, and He healed them. So the multitude marveled when they saw the mute speaking, the maimed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel. Mt. 15: 30-32
I take "maimed" to mean disfigured, or possibly missing a limb.
