Hi Emily,

Important question. I think I should help you find answers by passing to you a link on that subject: Divorce n' Remarriage

There's a topical article written by a very good Bible teacher (Steve Gregg) at this link. It is a better treatment than I could give you, my memory isn't so great, nor my knowledge as comprehensive.

Blessings,
Malachi 3:16 Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, and the LORD gave attention and heard [it,] and a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the LORD and who esteem His name. (NASB) :)

There is one thing of which we should be certain:

God hates divorce. (Malachi 2:16)

Every act of divorce is contrary to God's will.

I'm sure there are circumstances in which divorce seems necessary. But a disciple ought never to divorce until he first considers all other possible solutions to marital disharmony.

Man judges a person by his past deeds, and administers penalties for his wrongdoing. God judges a person by his present character, and disciplines him that he may become righteous.
