I appreciate the man's generosity and seemingly good work over there (from briefly browsing his blog). He had other options for helping his employee and/or other even more needy people (e.g., people earning the real minimum wage).
I disagree with him that a living wage is the same thing as a just wage or that justice demands that everyone earn at least x amount. I also doubt that raising the legal min wage would by itself amount to much overall good. Government mandated attempts at shifting money around don't seem to work out all that well, so it may do more harm. ... but I'm no economist.
