My family doesn't "go to church". However, tonight will mark the third night this week that we've experienced fellowship with other believers. This has been a common practice since we left the institutionalized church four years ago. Our assembling together usually occurs in homes, but sometimes happens at coffee shops, the beach, parks, or other places as well.

Several hours of worship, prayer, Bible study, good food, communion and mutual edification has been much more enriching than the Protestant liturgy of announcements, songs and lectures, nicely wrapped up in in an hour.

But, that's just us. Most Christians think we're weird.

I don't think you're weird...that's exactly what I'm longing for.

church attendance

Would some of you that have already left the institutional church and started other fellowships consider relating your experiences? What has worked and what hasn't, etc.? We're currently starting a home Bible Study and have about 3 months to plan for it. I know the Spirit will lead but right now He's encouraging me to seek guidance. Sounds like others here could also think about starting a group.
