I would not consider give much weight to this. People may write or speak differently in different circumstances/purposes. Years ago I used to listen to Dr. McGee on his Saturday Q & A program. Then one day I heard him preach a wonderful Christmas sermon and I neither recognized his voice or style of speaking; I was completely surprised at the end when I found out who I was listening to.Revelation was under heavy dispute. Four times in the book, the author identifies himself as being "John." But which John? The apostle John never calls himself "John" anywhere in his Gospel or in 1 John.
