Who are Those Two Witnesses?

They're described as witnesses, olive trees and lampstands. They wear sackcloth but breathe fire at their enemies, stop rain, turn water into blood, and strike the earth with plagues. Topping it off, they come back to life after a beast kills them. Literally??
