Matthew 24:14 Question for Steve and Preterists

Post by _Sean » Sat Jan 22, 2005 4:15 am

Matt 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
Steve, I've heard you many times quote this passage and apply it today. Yet it is in the context of Matthew 24's Olivette discourse which you also state as being fulfilled in 70AD.

So my question is, why do you quote it as a futurist does? I can understand a dual fulfillment/meaning here. Is this how you are looking at this passage? I'm just wondering what your thoughts are on it.

The gospel did go into the then known world as evidenced by scripture, acts2:5, rom1:8, 10:18, 16:26, col1:6, 23.
