The millenium?

11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them.
REV 21
1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea.

2pet 3
10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. 11 Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,
12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat! 13 But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.
14 Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless,
15 and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation; just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you

mt 24
35 "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away. 36 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.
37 "For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah

Looks like there is no literal 1000 reign .
looks like the 2nd coming occurs after the 1000 years in Rev 19.
Peter makes no mention of it, but has his eyes on the GW Throne.

Welcome Jeff! I agree.
Peter mentions that God's patience before Christ's coming is what the "day is as 1000 years" is referring to.

Hey jeff. Just for background, most folks up in here know that I'm premill. I just thought I'd do a little smash and grab raid!

But, in your understanding, is this the same new heavens and new earth that Isaiah is referring to in Isaiah 65 when he talks about lions lying down with calves, the kids playing with cobras, etc?

Not that Jeff needs me speaking for him but...The picture that is being painted in Isaiah 65 is the same picture that is being painted in Isaiah 11. And Paul said in Romans 15 that this was happening in the first century. The idea of clean and unclean animals laying down was something that a first century Jew would have understood very clearly.

Jews = clean animals
Gentiles = unclean animals

Salvation and a kingdom was no longer only for the Jews but for the Gentiles as well. Peter and his vision..."Do not call unclean what I have made clean." The Jerusalem council. Ephesians 2...being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

If this is something that you disagree with...What you need to do is explain to me why Paul as interpreter of Israels scriptures made the mistake of quoting this passage in as fulfilled in the first century.

And please don't tell me that this is just my interpretation of what Paul was saying. There is no need to interpret it. It is historical narrative. He gave us the interpretation. And for us to say that this is not what he meant is to go against the plain...simple...literal...straight forward meaning of the scriptures.

2 Peter 3 = Isaiah 65 = Isaiah 11, which Paul quotes as being fulfilled in the first century.

Better question might be...since it is only spoken of in one other place in the only scriptures that they had back then...The Old Testament. Is there any good justification to think that Peter meant anything other than?

Can you prove that Peter was speaking of a different new heaven and earth?
