What are the differences between the two views?

Very little difference. Proponents of both views believe that God orchestrates all events in order to fulfill a deeper purpose.Joel wrote:What are the differences between the two views?

Re: Augustinian and Calvinism
Calvin's beliefs on predestination and divine sovereignty (that is, the views usually associated with "Calvinism") came from Augustine.
The latter also was the father of many Roman Catholic views as well, many of which Calvin did not follow.
