WITH the Last

What does this mean...

Isaiah 41:4 Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he.

Is there a meaningful distinction between the scriptures that say He is "the first and the last" and this one that says He is "the first and with the last"?
