A believing friend of mine who served in the army in Afghanistan said they usually "baptized" new followers of Jesus with water from a canteen.

I asked a long time ago on this forum whether a person in Antarctica could properly be baptized in a snow drift. Snow is water after all.

And let's not forget that one can be baptized in holy spirit and in fire. (Matt 3:11, Luke 3:16)
