Re: Baby almost on the way!

Michele -- it's Lydia Nicole. We're hoping she loves purple and that she worships God and that He opens her heart to respond to the Word. Acts 16:14 A woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple fabrics, a worshiper of God, was listening; and the Lord opened her heart to respon...

Re: What happens in your Bible studies?

So, for me, the meat of the quote is a-typical, not typical. It is cynical, not reality. This has been my experience as well. My wife and I host a Bible discussion group every other week at our house. The families that have attended are average families from different walks of life. Much of what is...

Re: It's A Thin Line Between Love and Hate...

Steve, I agree with your assessment, but when seer asked the following question: On Steve's show friday he explained that God is a complex being - that He can both hate a man and love a man at the same time. So would it wrong for us to hate and love our fellow man. ...you posted the reference to thi...

Matthew 5:43-48 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor’ and ‘hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemy and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be like your Father in heaven, since he causes the sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righte...

Rick,
I'm curious. What is it about T.D. Jakes that you find admirable? IMHO, he preaches a prosperity gospel that is at odds with God's kingdom.

Re: Death Penalty For Homosexuals?

Is the assumption of homosexual acts being worthy of death based on the OT passage condemning it for the Jews?

Re: Everlasting Destruction?

This thread seems to be a debate regarding how someone can be punished eternally away from the presence of God. However, this is based on an understanding of the word from in the 2 Thessalonians text where its meaning is taken to be apart from . There is another way to understand the word from in th...

Re: Everlasting Destruction?

There is another part of my argument. The wicked lost are said to be tormented in the presence of Christ "forever and ever" (or ages) Rev.14:10,11. It's seems that their torment is directly linked to the presence of Christ. Hi I think this depends on how you read the meaning of the word from. That ...

Re: Everlasting Destruction?

Hi I think this depends on how you read the meaning of the word from . That the punishment is away or separate from the presence of the Lord and the glory of his power is one way to read this. The other way is that the source of the punishment is the presence of the Lord and the glory of his power. ...
