Re: Spiritual Warfare and Bible Translators

I have heard it argued that if demons had the power to influence the the physical world, then this would mean demons had the power to create, a power that belongs only to God. Taking this logic even further, it could be claimed that if demons had such creative power, this would destroy the argument ...

Re: Letters, Epistles, and Baptism for the Dead

Thank you for the recommendation Homer and Steve. There a couple of other books in my purchase and reading queue, but I've added this one to the list. Perhaps someday soon. I'll be sure to respond once I've been able to read it.

Re: "Behold I come soon"

Hi Ian, There are at least 3 reasons 1st century Christians would have found comfort and hope in the judgment on Israel of 70 A.D.: Christians were being persecuted by the Jewish religious leaders. The judgment by Rome robbed them of the power to continue to do that. The destruction of the temple si...

Re: Letters, Epistles, and Baptism for the Dead

Hi Homer,

Sounds like an interesting book. I checked it out online. Seems like it was printed back in the 90's. Just wondering how you heard of it and what made you decide it might be a good read?

Re: Animals on the ark

Hi Matt, I agree that one's view of origins should not depend solely on the feasibility of the Ark. As you and Timios both point out, the saving of all animals on Earth via Noah's Ark may have been quite doable. However, despite how feasible the Ark situation is, it invariably leads to other questio...

Re: Animals on the ark

Hi Ian, Origins is a difficult subject about which I hesitate to be dogmatic in making any assertions. However, if I were to take the Genesis account of the flood as literal narrative of actual historical events, I think I would lean in a similar direction to Dr. Ross. Here's another link that makes...

Re: Natural Evil a Retroactive Effect of the Fall of Man?

I may not be quite understanding this but anyway, i thought you said man's sin may have been applied retroactively to the animal kingdom making it predatory from the start. I thought you compared this to Jesus atonement being applied retroactively. Yep, I think you understood me correctly for the m...

Re: Natural Evil a Retroactive Effect of the Fall of Man?

Yet, if one keeps going with the logic—evolution itself could be a result of the fall and curse of sin. This seems reinforced when one thinks about the principles of evolution—selfish dominance of the gene pool, suffering and violence, a seeming lack of care and meaning for life—that evolutionists ...

Natural Evil a Retroactive Effect of the Fall of Man?

Hi Friends, I apologize if this section of the forum is not the right place for this. This topic seems to fit in several different categories. Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the theory that death and predatory behavior in the animal kingdom has always existed due to retroactive effects...

Re: Daniel's last 3 Kingdom's as Media, Persia, and Greece

Hello again Pete, I'm not sure if you've revisited this much since you first finished the book, but I'm genuinely interested in your thoughts (and those of others) on Gurney's comments on page 9 of chapter 7 regarding Daniel 11:40. For me, this was by far the hardest part of his explanation to swall...
