Re: Jonah 3:7-10 – God Repents!

I know my wife. I know my wife doesn't like steak. I know my wife wont eat a steak tomorrow because I know her. This doesn't take away her free will to do so. I am human. I only know my wife so well. There is still a chance she will eat a steak tomorrow but highly unlikely. If someone put a gun to h...

Re: Sin against the body

I believe for the most part it is because of the spiritual and symbolic aspects. The virgin is the faithful followers of God who have kept Him as their only God that they worship. The adulterer are those that belong to God but worship other religions for their own pleasure or ignorance. The whore/ha...

Re: Jonah 3:7-10 – God Repents!

Good food for thought Paidion. Thanks. I am not sure those have to be interpreted as He literally didn't know that they wouldn't have returned but more to say "One would think after all of this they would have returned but they didn't". I also don't know how much is lost in translation but it is cer...

Re: Jonah 3:7-10 – God Repents!

You can know what someone will do can if you are omnipresent or omniscient. Either would be sufficient. I don't see anywhere that it was said that God the Father didn't know something. Ephesians 1:4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless be...

Re: Jonah 3:7-10 – God Repents!

I believe that omnipresence applies to not only space but time. Most scientists believe that space and time are a continuum just like mater and energy. I remember reading Genius and one of the passages struck me as it might support this view but didn't out right say it. I don't remember what passage...

Re: Is satan dumb?

I wonder how much was due to pride? Pride can make even smart people do dumb things. Satan is evil too. Evil people do things that they enjoy in the short term but regret in the long term. Did Satan take pleasure in Jesus's pain? I think the other options that Satan offered Jesus he knew would only ...

Re: The Flat Earth & Conspiracy Theories

I listened to the first 30 seconds and find it ironic the analogy used of the bridge and relying on the bridge builder to know if it is safe. Hmm, I think he is arguing the wrong message. Scientist didn't build the world. Sounds like they are starting to think they did. The builder of the worlds is ...

science-deniers. I see that term as very belittling and insulting. Regardless of who is right and who is wrong please stop using this term and others like anti-vaxxers. They are bullying terms designed to scare others into not disagreeing with you. I am actually offended and insulted as that has be...

Re: Was not the serpent already on his belly anyway?

I was wondering about this recently too (maybe we are using the same daily devotional). I believe many old paintings of the scene show the snake with wings. I appreciate Steve's explanation. Well we know the snake is Satan from Revelation so maybe this is a symbolic action. Just a thought but maybe ...
