Re: no gun=no protection?
I doubt that if you had a gun and the assailant didn't that you would need to kill them in order to get them to stop their assault. You could threaten, attempt to wound, etc. first. If they did die however in your attempts to stop them I believe that Exodus 22:2 would apply. Not doing anything wheth...

Re: Introduction and testimony
Dwight, Very interesting point. I have wondered the similar points on this topic as well. I fear speaking in a language that I don't understand I might say things I don't agree with. I could easily see some trick of the devil like the new age movement where they are very spiritual but seem not to ca...

Re: The Flat Earth & Conspiracy Theories
Thanks for the answer Singalphile. I see it this way. Probably most people involved in the evolution belief system are true to what they believe so in that sense it isn't fraud on their part. I do believe though that satan is behind the fraud and tricking people into spreading his lies. In that sens...

Re: The Flat Earth & Conspiracy Theories
For item number 1. Is your objection that macro Evolution is wrong but not a fraud? Or that the bible is wrong about how creation took place in favor of the theories that Darwin put forth? We can't keep the Bible's version of creation and evolution and simply say that it was longer than 6 days and t...

Re: Rebellious son, and Matthew 18
I am so glad that you got to spend quality family time together. The prospect of spending time with his sister who might know the slightly newer (and worse) packaging of the same old temptations might serve him well.

Re: Rebellious son, and Matthew 18
I have been giving this a lot of thought as it is weighing on my mind. I am not sure anything I say here will be of any value and might be someone what offensive so please forgive me if it comes off that way or is really bad advice. I am probably writing this more to sort out my own thoughts than an...

Re: Rebellious son, and Matthew 18
I keep going back and forth on whether I should explain a little what I have gathered from the book so far. I am sure I will not explain it as well as they do. I believe I haven't provided enough though to peak an interest in looking at it. The aptly titled book focuses on the heart of the child rat...

Re: Rebellious son, and Matthew 18
That is indeed troubling and I am glad that you are sharing this here. I have a little one on the way and I heard Steve mention a good book on parenting. I purchased it recently and I am in the process of reading it. I am wondering if you have read it and if so how many parenting techniques you use ...

Re: Why it is wrong for a strong Christian to celebrate XMAS
Paidion, Thank you for sharing. That is an interesting approach to addressing the dilemma of how to approach Christmas. You point out another interesting aspect of asking older kids to lie to their younger siblings to continue the myth. Being the younger child with no younger children near by I was ...
