Re: Rational Choice

Box A only: 5 Both Boxes: 4 Amazing the even split among your co-workers, Douglas. I would also be interested in knowing whether each of your co-workers all felt very certain that his/her choice was the only rational one. I'd like to see just a few more results before casting my own vote, and expla...

Re: Strange contemplation pertaining to Jesus death?

You said it! We are not saved by works, but we are not saved without them either! As Paul put it: For he will render to everyone according to his works: to those who by perseverance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, he will give lasting life; but for those who are self-seeking...

Re: Is UR fair to those who believe NOW?

So Bubba, are you simply a Calvinist who believes that 100% of people are "elected" to "eternal life" rather than a mere 1% or fewer as classic Calvinists believe?

Re: Message of Hell

The Greek word for "hell" the place of suffering is γεεννα. It occurs only 12 times in the New Testament. The writers of the NT used the word 11 times, all in recording the words of our Saviour. Jesus warned people about it. The 12th occurence is in the book of James where he said that the tongue is...

Re: when Revelation was written

There is a bit of internal evidence that Revelation was written at a later date. Revelation 1:10 I came to be in the spirit ἐν τῃ κυριακῃ ἡμερᾳ (in the Lordly day)... "κυριακος" is an adjective which literally means "Lordly", though it is usually translated as "Lord's". The word is not found in the ...

Re: Is UR fair to those who believe NOW?

TK ... excuse for what??? There is no excuse for eternal torment. It is simply unjust no matter how you look at it, and our Beloved Creator who is pure love, does not have the desire or even the ability to execute it, for it is contrary to His GODLY nature. He does exercise tough love, true. But ete...

Re: Why the atonement?

But you can not show, out of all the billions of people who have lived since Christ's sacrifice, even one case where this has been accomplished. If your theory is correct, God's plan is a complete failure. What exactly is it that you claim I can't show? That no one has been enabled to overcome sin?...

Both boxes:4

People aren't clamouring to make their rational choice; nevertheless I am very grateful for those who have done so ---- and I do notice, consistent with the wider study, that numerically the two choices are pretty well neck to neck.

Re: Is UR fair to those who believe NOW?

Rather oddly, most of you seem to find eternal separation from God as intolerable while having no qualms about thousands of years of agonizing correction. Strange.
Not so strange, Homer. There's an eternity of difference.
