Re: In need of new website photo

I like the one with you and LIz in 1988 (ok, maybe not for the site) -- closest I see is the "rare one of you smiling".

I think it's time for a portrait. Did they do one for your book?

Maybe a shot from you teaching?

Re: What are we to make of the Haiti earthquake?

i think there are 3 questions (maybe more but i can only think of 3): 1. did cause cause it? 2. did God allow it? 3. can God use it? personally i would answer no to 1, maybe to 2 and definitely to 3. TK I'm not sure we can know the answer to 1, really (2 and 3 are definitely yes), but I can say the...

Re: Presuppositional Apologetics=Good stuff

It's been a while since I've heard it, but this was a debate between a Christian Apologist using Presuppositional Apologetics against an atheist. (August 5th, 2007 debate between Pastor Gene Cook, Jr and Steve Scianni on the question of "Is the Atheistic Worldview Superior to Christianity?") http://...

Re: Presuppositional Apologetics=Good stuff

Brody can speak for himself, but I understand that his desire was to discuss the particular method of apologetics referred to as "presuppositional apologetics." The content I pasted was a dialogue on that very thing. If you wish to discuss other forms of apologetics and not the use or usefulness or ...

Re: Presuppositional Apologetics=Good stuff

How can an atheist give an account for the laws of logic and such? They have to borrow from the Christian worldview to do such, as it is our God who provides the foundation for such. I think they simply deny that God is required for logic and such, and that - like the laws of nature, they just "are...

Re: Presuppositional Apologetics=Good stuff

I have no problem with candor -- you have mistaken my motives -- I was in no way even responding to your post (which I barely even read, frankly) but was simply providing this thread with the benefit of the prior conversation since it hasn't really taken off yet, and presuppositionalism hasn't been ...

Re: Presuppositional Apologetics=Good stuff

Just thought this thread would benefit from the on-topic discussion on an unrelated thread -- could have posted to the content in the prior thread (on this very topic), but since most of it was off-topic thought this the most helpful. It sure sounded like Brody wanted to discuss presup apologetics, ...

Re: Presuppositional Apologetics=Good stuff

I don't think he meant presuppositional in that sense. There's a style of apologetics known as "presuppositional." It was formalized, I think, by Cornelius Van Til and Greg Bahnsen also wrote a book about it called Always Ready. On the other hand Jill, I have thought briefly from time to time about...

Re: Film Screening in Portland

Yes, they refused to keep an entry for Steve's bio. Of course, the bias is pretty obvious most of the times, and there is a record of changes, so I do find it a reliable starting place most of the time.
