Re: John 8:58

Can agents, sent on behalf of a superior take, on the name of the one they are sent by?

That could be a possible answer to what you are appealing to Paidon, or it could be a swing and a miss.

Re: John 8:58

As I understand verse 58, Jesus was simply saying that He existed before Abraham. I think it is mere assumption that He was trying to say that He was the "the Great I AM." I don't think the verse implies either Trinitarianism or Modalism. Thanks Paidion, so you don't think that verse 56 plays into ...

John 8:58

I touched on this question on a different thread and hoped to focus on this. was Jesus claiming to be the 'I am/Yahweh' of Exodus 3? Or is Jesus claiming to be the one who's day Abraham rejoiced that he would see- namely the Messiah, the promised Abrahamic seed (singular Gal. 3), that Abraham was lo...

Re: YouTube Videos Christology

Jesus' statement was His answer to the question the Jews asked Him: 57 So the Jews said to him, "You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham?" 58 Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am." It seems to me that Jesus' response indicated that He existed ...

Re: The Holy Spirit - a person??

Brother Alan, I started the other post in attempt to show that the grouping together of three may mean that 3 parties are working together and instrumental in an overall goal or purpose but that doesn't constitute a one being/three person identification that the Trinity means. I still maintain there...

Re: A triad does not mean a Trinity

"But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Another instance of where the Spirit is missing and the angels are present instead. It is like Jesus doesn't realize that the holy Spirit is the third person in the God head. This is a pattern ...

A triad does not mean a Trinity

1 Tim 5 :21 In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus and of the elect angels I charge you to keep these rules without prejudging, doing nothing from partiality. Interesting that here we have these 3 who's presence warrants solemn responsibility, and these 3 are present before the living saints and...

Re: The Holy Spirit - a person??

Well I just got and pasted this second point from the initial post NT greetings- if the Trinity is true, then you would expect a common greeting from God the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Yet that is not the case at all. 'from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ'- no Holy S...

Re: The Holy Spirit - a person??

Brother Alan, were you going to interact with some of my points I called attention to in my opening post here?
Thanks
