Re: If Americans Knew - U.S. Aid & the Israel/Palestine Conflict

It is estimated Paidon that Israel has well over 250 nuclear warheads and at least as many delivery systems, i.e. missiles, while her neighbors have -zero- while at the same time it doesn't seem as if the money the US has doled out has been proportionate. Just my take. Good thing Israel has it othe...

Re: Consulting or calling up the dead

Of course we should believe Paul. It was immediate for him, and it will be immediate for us. After our death, the next thing of which we will be aware will being present with the Lord, even if temporally speaking, it takes place 3000 years after our death. Paidion, Do you really think Paul would sa...

Steve7150 you wrote: I care because i'd like to be with Christ ASAP and so did Paul. "For to me to live is Christ and to DIE IS GAIN. Re: Consulting or calling up the dead

I don't really care which of these views turns out to have been correct, since either way the very next moment of awareness I (as a Christian) have will be pretty good, no matter how much or how little time has elapsed. OK? I care because i'd like to be with Christ ASAP and so did Paul. "For to me ...

Re: Consulting or calling up the dead

As we know, there was no punctuation in the early Greek manuscripts of the New Testament. Which of the following did Jesus actually say to the thief on the cross? 1. I am telling you, today you will be with me in paradise. OR 2. I am telling you today, you will be with me in paradise. I think Jesus...

Re: Satan as an actuall snake or a Metaphore?

just a quick question- if Satan merely possessed a reptile of some sort (i tend to think the serpent wasnt a snake) then why did god curse the serpent? Jesus never cursed those who had been possessed by an evil spirit. A good point TK which suggests to me the snake is a metaphor and not a possessed...

Re: Noah's age when the flood began?

Even if he can calculate the "beginning," how does he get to the "end date"?

He adds 7,000 years to the flood date, supposedly 4990 BC but why 7,000 years? I have to find out though i do know he is into numbers having symbolism and 7 is the number of completeness.

Noah's age when the flood began?

In Gen 7.6 it says "Noah was six hundred years old when the floodwaters came on the earth." which sounds clear but a few verses later "In the six hundredth year of Noah's year of Noah's life on the 17th day of the second month on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth and the floodga...

Re: Consulting or calling up the dead

Fortunately Paul knew when his change would come and could share his knowledge with others. Just like Job knew. I think you are mixing apples with oranges, since immortality is in fact what is granted on the last day as Paul said, not being present with the Lord for the first time for believers. Pa...

Re: Consulting or calling up the dead

This is very much in keeping with what Stephen's understanding would have been seeing that Stephen read the "Old Testament" i.e. the Tanakh: The breath returns to the God that gave it and the body returns to the dust from whence it came. No actually i think it would have been Stephen's understandin...
