Re: Calls that go clash
I vote to have Steve keep irate callers on as long as they are trying to make sense, and making their point while actually responding to the subject. I vote to keep callers with different views or difficult questions on, as long as it is on theology or matters of God and salvation There are mirads o...

Re: Did Christ REALLY make a big sacrifice?
It was not 'how much' He suffered but 'who' suffered. I wish I heard your call, 'Most' significant, and all descriptions are understatements, when thinking of how our Creator would suffer death for us. TK said it also; His own creatures put His Son to death. I always felt, as I have a human nature, ...

Re: One Question
There seems' to be only two possible answers to 'how' does God know the future; 1. God can 'see' the future, and this supposes 'it' has happened. 2. God can 'predict' the future, this supposes 'it' has not happened. Number 1. just moves the question back further and further , to did God 'see' that f...

Re: Compassion when looking backward in time
Two quick notes; I always considered that not praying for a sin that lead to death (which would be different than the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit), was a grievous sin that had a death sentence attached, such as murder or treason etc. In such cases the earthly penalty was need paid, under Roman rule...

Re: Compassion when looking backward in time
On the other hand, I will say that, with caution , I think it is ok to ask God to have mercy on those departed. I understand the feeling and desires that develop when we love and know people who died w/o the opportunity or the time to accept the Gospel. (Including those who may not have shown enough...

Re: Compassion when looking backward in time
Prayers for the dead: I was thinking on this, while I was thinking on Christian Universalism. I have 'not' always been as ‘sympathetic’ in my theology towards 'the unreached and unbelievers', as I am today. This group of people I am sympathetic towards are those who would be defined as people who; A...

Re: One Question
I agree with Kyle, God could be outside of time (And many hold to this idea). But for us, I think history must 'happen' at some point, and that point for 'us' at least is always 'now' . So nothing has happened in the future, otherwise that future would be now. As Kyle alluded to; 'time' is not a thi...

Re: One Question
Hello Ashes, Does God know the future? (The view I hold is that the future has not happened, otherwise you just move the question to did God know what would happen in 'that' future?) God brings to past everything He promised, and everything 'He knows' will happen, happens. He out thinks and out know...

Re: Why Does This Quote Bother Me???
Like Johns the Baptists converts said 'We have not even 'heard' of the Holy Spirit' (Acts 19:2). And how did we recieve the Holy Spirit? By believing what we 'heard' (Galatians 3:2) Boy this sounds like the two extremes represented in another post. To deny the work of Gods Word, which includes the '...

Re: Compiling of the New Testament
So it goes; the Catholic response will be to disagree with any ‘interpretation’ of church history that doesn’t support the Catholic position. As you have said; “Paidon, we're talking about the same thing but your interpretation of the historical facts is not quite right.” (John) “I'm not sure who ha...
