Re: Get yourself a new heart?
Hi Jim (Seer), I think Paidion said it quite well, and without any contradiction. The only reason a Calvinist would see a contradiction where you see one is that Calvinism assumes the "prior work" is the unilateral work of regeneration. Paidion is not assuming such a thing—nor should anyone. To sugg...

Re: Wicked Kings?
It may not be the reference you are thinking of, but Zechariah 11:15-16 mentions this idea. The evil king is referred to as "a foolish shepherd," but the concept is the same.

Re: Women in 1 Timothy (Could Steve respond?)
Ken Schenk, the author of this article (hereafter referred to as “our author”) has chosen one of several popular ways to dismiss the Pauline teaching about women in the role of church eldership. Some do so by suggesting that Paul is demonstrating his lingering prejudices that were inculcated in him ...

Re: Steve's Coming to STL Missouri
I will be in Toronto next week. I am flying there Sunday and teaching for YWAM for four days, returning home on Thursday night. For info about my location you can email Mark at kimarkhj@gmail.com. I should mention that this is a Korean-language school, where all teaching will be done with a Korean t...

By next week, I expect, you will be able to hear both parts of the debate from the "topical lectures" link at thenarrowpath.com. I have mailed a disk to the webmaster, who will post them when he receives it. It may be that they will be there by this weekend.

Re: I Timothy 4:10 and Universal Reconciliation
If I were a believer in UR, I would give the following answer to the proposed question about 1 Tim.4:10— All men will ultimately be saved by Christ, in the sense that they will at some time repent (either in this life or after death—possibly in hell), will be reconciled to God and admitted to eterna...

Re: Debate from 10/17/08
I called my producer about that and they apparently made the mistake of playing part one of the debate on both Thursday and Friday, instead of playing the two parts on those two days. They were not sure then when to play the other part. If I had known about the mix-up, I would have had them play the...

Re: It's A Thin Line Between Love and Hate...
Hi Homer, It may be that Moses and Jeremiah only condemned lusting after other men's wives, but Job's statement, even if not rising to the level of a commandment, is definitely given as an example of the habits of a righteous man. His covenant with his eyes was that he would not look upon a "maid," ...
