Re: What are your thoughts concerning universalism?

Hi Darrell, You wrote: [Ultimately] universalism makes faith, death and judgement mere formalities. It makes a life of faith and following Christ unnecessary because in the end everyone gets to "go to heaven" (it just may take a little more time for some of us to get there)..not by faith but by tort...

Re: What are your thoughts concerning universalism?

Hi Homer, You wrote: So Hitler, when confronted by Christ on Judgement day, falls to his knees in terror, repents, and winds up immediately in the same condition as Polycarp! Why would anyone assume that Hitler, whether he repented before or after his death, would be in the same contidion as Polycar...

Re: What are your thoughts concerning universalism?

The salvation of notorious sinners like Hitler and Stalin would be no more unjust than the salvation of you or me. We are all sinners, and do not deserve salvation. As I understand it, God set forth Christ as a propitiation so that He could be just and the justifier of all who believe in Jesus. Thus...

Re: President Trump Exalts Jesus

Please pass along my thanks to Mrs. Paidion for that cogent (and to my mind accurate) assessment.

Re: President Trump Exalts Jesus

Mr. Trump has lived, in some respects (primarily sexual), a debased life. So have many other Christians, prior to their conversions. Even the woman taken in adultery was forgiven and needn't be remembered only for her previous sin. If Mr. Trump became a believer during his campaign in 2015, as many ...

Re: Sexual practices in marriage

Hi Dwight, I am not sure how anyone can read (or hear) anything I have ever written (or said) about this subject and then suggest that I think sexual activity is not supposed to be pleasurable or enjoyable. Nothing I have ever said or written diminishes the value of enjoyment in marital sex. Even th...

Re: A new movie... from me

Well, I have not met David Cunningham either. I just heard that Loren's son made Hollywood movies (didn't know his name). What are the chances of the two of you both having the same last name, and being involved as Christians in such a small industry? Your sister, by the way, is amazing! She replace...

Re: A new movie... from me

Hi Jason, Looks good! I saw your movie "To End All Wars" with Keifer Sutherland several years ago. Liked it too. I don't think we have ever met, but you are Loren's son, aren't you? I imagine you know most of the Christian actors (or at least who they are). It's good to have Christians working in Ho...

Re: Paul's great omission

Hi Paidion, My pilgrimage was the reverse of yours. You began believing that Jesus was the “Son” due to His being born of a virgin, and you later reconsidered and settled on the traditional view that He was eternally begotten before all ages. By contrast, I began my life and ministry believing the t...

Re: Did Jesus Command His Apostles to Kill?

I am not seeing any reference to Jesus telling the apostles to kill anybody. There are no commands given to the apostles in this passage. The deaths of these rebels appears to correspond to the deaths of those in 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 and in Matthew 25:46.
