I still lurk as well, but prefer reading to posting.

Re: Introverts & Fellowship
Oh, on a side note -- I once heard that A.W. Tozer was fairly introverted and this caused him to gain a negative reputation among some of his congregation. Not sure if that's true or not.

Re: Introverts & Fellowship
Thanks for sharing that. I have thought about this and I always tend to run from superficiality. And meet-and-greets and most social occasions seem to revel in the superficial. "Hi, what's your name?" "Tell me what you do again?" "How long have you been in the area?" I learned to overcome some of th...

Introverts & Fellowship
A while back a friend recommended that I read a certain book and at the front is a personality quiz. The results very much confirmed what I'd always known; namely, that I'm of the melancholy persuasion (introverted, too cerebral, etc). As far back as I can remember, this has always been the case. My...

Re: ‘Together 2016’ Organizer Meets With ‘Pope Francis’ to U
I'm not Catholic doctrinally, but I do attend a Catholic church now and thought I share some of the reasons for it. I "got saved" in a non-denomination mega church in my early twenties. And for 15 years, that's all I knew. We looked down on Catholics for adopting the traditions of men, but along the...

The Jordan Codices
Apparently, this is the first historical reference to Jesus and the apostles. I'm just now hearing about it, even though the lead tablets were found in 2008. Thoughts?

Re: Holding Minority Opinions
Looking strange in the eyes of the world wouldn't be an issue if I were not also, in some minor respect, also carrying the gospel with me. I suppose the fear is that if I hold so many minority opinions, then the gospel gets associated with folks who are a bit nutty. I know people who are a bit "off"...

Paidion wrote: The problem is, "How will you know that any given church is entirely biblical?" Each of us has his own understanding of what he reads in the Bible. So we think that if a church's beliefs and practices are the same as our own, it must be a totally biblical church. Someone else who hold...

Re: Holding Minority Opinions
crgfstr1, Thank you for responding and sharing an example from your own experience. Not to derail the discussion, but I also spent some agonizing years looking for a church that seemed entirely biblical. In my experience, they don't exist. Or at least, not for long. I actually attend a Catholic chur...
