Re: The Hiddeness Of God
Jim, None of us can say whether or not more people would be saved if God would do something differently. The simple truth is that God does what He sees fit to do. What He does is enough. He enlightens every man who comes into the world (John 1:9). He convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judg...

Re: The Hiddeness Of God
In C.S. Lewis' treatment of the subject of miracles, he suggests that the kind of miracles Jesus did was nothing more or less than the kind of things God does all the time—but less suddenly—in nature. To wit, water is turned to wine, in nature, through grapevines. Bread (that is, grain) and fish are...

Hi Jim,
Another case of a Calvinist underestimating the depravity of man. :-)

Re: Jesus' skin color
It might also be pointed out that, while certain evil white people introduced African slavery to Europe and America, it is also true that benevolent white people (without any compulsion from the blacks) later abolished slavery in those same regions. In the American Civil War, thousands of white peop...

Re: Jesus' skin color
I don't think this is likely. Although some of those of the ten northern tribes may have intermarried with African people in the diaspora (e.g., in Alexandria), Jesus was descended through a fairly pure Jewish line, and the Judeans, I think, tended to keep themselves pretty separated from the Gentil...

You mean "Branhamism" (followers of William Branham). "Brahman" is a key concept in Hinduism.

Re: "Salvation In the Old Testament"
In the Old Testament, according to Hebrews 11, the saints received a good report because of their faith. We are told that Abraham was justified by his faith, and the same is implied about David (Rom.4:1-8). This seems to support the thesis that salvation was by faith in Old Testament times as well a...

Re: Another example of Inconsistent Hermeneutics
Hi Douglas, Thanks for your comments. You asked: "...what was the 'nature' of the coming alive that you are refering to here? Are we to assume that people would or should see physical bodies shooting out of the grave upwards to heaven?" I don't think a physical resurrection necessitates that the bod...

Re: Romans 2 Nathan and David
There may be some commentators who make this observation. I have not found them.
