Re: Why is God's church and bible in its current condition?

Why does God choose to present His Bible, His message, in a way that instead of being unequivocable in its meaning, is subject to multiple interpertations and therefore multiple translations of the Bible? Which Bible? Thoughout the early centuries of Christendom, there was disagreement as to which ...

Re: Why is God's church and bible in its current condition?

I'm just curious... If Christ is the head of the Orthodox Church, why does it need a "collegial system of government"? Is Christ not able to rule His followers directly, without a hierarchy of men between He and them? That would depend on how you view the Church and the means of God. Each person ha...

Re: Why is God's church and bible in its current condition?

I often wonder why God allows division to exist in the Church, and why all the controversies of what the Bible is really saying. Don't get me wrong I'm not questioning God, I just just don't understand it and would have a hard time explaining to an unbeliever, especially a well informed atheist how...

In todays evangelical world....

Is it just me, or has it become a habit for the evangelical world to practice Solo Scriptura, not Sola Scriptura?

Re: Was it sins or was it one sin, adams?

Homer, I understand what you are saying but how does still owing a debt to God compare to what we learn of God in this parable.. Mat 18:23 Therefore the kingdom of Heaven has been compared to a certain king who desired to make an accounting with his servants. Mat 18:24 And when he had begun to count...

Re: Was it sins or was it one sin, adams?

The angel said to Joseph in a dream, [Mary] will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins ." Matthew 1:21 It would be a sad thing if Jesus had not died to deliver us from ALL our sins. If His death did nothing more than to "cover Adam's sin", we wou...

Was it sins or was it one sin, adams?

I am wondering why sins is pluralised in scripture when it pertains to the atonement and in fact it seems that Paul could be speaking of only one sin that was covered and its consequences. Out of curiosity what sin do you think was covered? looking at the word hamartia. Thayer Definition: 1) equival...

Re: Significance of blood?

I can only agree. As for the teaching that Christ died for my sins in order that I may now run around freely and innocent as a little child if only I were to believe this teaching, I do not find in the text. This teaching seems more along the lines of a "scape-goat" teaching than one of a full bloo...

Significance of blood?

What is the signifigance of blood in the OT? It seems to me that this answer is very clear it contains life. Genesis 9:4 "Only you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood. Leviticus 17:11 'For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonem...
