Re: New member needs prayer...

You're right, Charles, we are not to stop. To all who are praying, thank you so much for coming alongside K in prayer. I'm excited to see what the Lord will do (and is even now doing)!

Re: New member needs prayer...

I know, isn't she amazing?! She lost her pediatric specialist and had to leave Children's Hospital after turning 21 a couple weeks ago. Doctor after doctor refused to take her case and it almost seemed that she was going to be turned out onto the street. At the last minute they found a doctor who wo...

Re: New member needs prayer...

Daniel's prayer: The Lord sent answer instantly, yet it took 21 days to reach him, due to opposition. Sometimes we already have what we cannot yet see. God is faithful. A happy report from K, who titled her email, "I’m no longer a broken record: " Hi! I can not thank you enough for all your prayers....

Re: Guns, self-defense and Christians

Wow, you guys, very well put, and I agree 100%. I used to to take my camera and a horse into the woods, or sometimes just go hiking. I felt vulnerable to cougars and human predators, and thought a lot about purchasing a handgun. Growing up with rifles, I wasn't afraid to own one, but in the end deci...

Re: Guns, self-defense and Christians

I just read Steve's essay. He says what I wanted to say (and what I'm hearing you say, TK), only much so much more thoroughly. I also recognize that while I may have an opinion on what is the best way to deal with violence when I encounter it, what I most need is the Lord's leading in the midst of t...

Re: Guns, self-defense and Christians

I don't pretend to have a scriptural basis for this, but I would fight to the death if necessary, to protect a child. I can't imagine doing otherwise. And if I was married, I would assume my husband would do the same for me. It seems to me that a husband is responsible for the protection of his fami...

Re: New member needs prayer...

On a similar note, a young woman with whom I have a fledgling friendship is suffering, devastated over her dad's suicide last weekend. Also in need of Christ.

Re: New member needs prayer...

Another desperate situation to hold up to the Father in prayer: I just learned that the 14-year-old son of a friend is in the Children's Hospital Psych ward (RW), having made multiple attempts on his own life. He is severely depressed. Drugs and counseling are not effective, of course, and his mom i...

Re: New member needs prayer...

I'm glad to hear you've got the audio again! I would think it would be better for the hospital too. It probably helps you work better, right?
