Does presithood of all = individualism?
I would love some input and thought into this one. How would you describe the difference between the priesthood of believers and individualism? I believe that you can champion the first without endorsing the second, but I do see how some would make the two equal. I think this is very relevant in our...

Re: A reforming Calvinist's corporate elction questions
Help me out here. In corporate election, is the remnant the elect or is it Christ? I have heard it referenced both ways and it is confusing sometimes.
thanks guys.

Re: A reforming Calvinist's corporate elction questions
After a few days of thought I can't get past the corporate example and present ramifications of the kingdom of God in the old testament and how it was only a remnant of Israel and was open to gentile God- fearers. thanks Darin and Steve for your input. Still wrestling with these things. Then the ato...

Re: A reforming Calvinist's corporate elction questions
Thanks Steve, this is Jeremiah by the way. there were many "to whom the arm of the Lord [was] revealed" who nonetheless failed to convert (John 12:37-38). this passage goes on to say that these to whom God's arm was revealed could not believe . John 12:39 So I find their failing to convert to not pr...

Re: A reforming Calvinist's corporate elction questions
Thanks Darin, I put the doctrines of grace in quotes when I first mentioned them because I did not want to offend. I never cared to be called a Calvinist because I was not and am not a follower of him, then I am left to use either a 'follower of the doctrines of grace' which some people take offense...

Re: A reforming Calvinist's corporate elction questions
Thanks Steve, I think that the Calvinist can believe in both the individual and corporate aspects of election, whereas the non-Calvinist cannot. It is because the very giving the possibility of individual election would give the whole 'doctrines of grace' some validity. One of the frustrating things...

A reforming Calvinist's corporate elction questions
Brothers ans sisters in Jesus, I have been pretty strongly reformed or strongly leaned that way for the last 15 years or so. I have not completely discarded that thinking but am adjusting a bit. I have always held, except for a year or so, my 'Calvinism' lightly in that I saw my identity and the ban...

Re: Memorizing a NT book?
I found this, and I think it is very helpful in how to memorize large portions of the word.
Plus i think that having it hidden in your heart is way better than having the word hidden in your pocket on your iphone app.

Memorizing a NT book?
I am going to memorize a NT book, I was thinking about Colossians, but Ephesians is tempting too. Then I thought about the sermon on the mount or 1 John or James. Not going to do Revelation. Have any of you memorized NT books and any recommendations? I know that I can't really go wrong but if you gu...

Re: Exposing sin that has been repented of?
Although it says people are currently "sinning", I think this could refer to sin that has been repented of. I am not getting this. You state accurately that the passage talks about those who are currently sinning then go to say that the passage could refer to the opposite? Any passages come to mind...
