Re: Easter Question -- why roll away the stone?
What I'm curious about is why did anyone need to move the stone before Christ appeared?

Easter Question -- why roll away the stone?
In Christ's resurrected body, He appeared to have been able to pass through walls, appear and disappear, etc. So, why roll away the stone? Why not just appear to the believers and have the Roman government roll away the stone to prove the news of His living was a lie?

Piper - 7 point Calvinist
Came up on the show... 6th point is just double predestination -- 7th seems a little strange to suggest alongside the other points. Sounds more like a rebuttal than a main point, but Piper's his own man, I guess. http://www.desiringgod.org/ResourceLibrary/Articles/ByDate/2006/1418_What_does_Piper_me...

Re: Some Hard Questions
...not a pre-human existence of some kind, like The Son of God had. Even that has been the subject of considerable debate, though the only "reasonable" debate in my opinion is the "eternality" vs. pre-existence (e.g., "was begetting a separate act from incarnation?") and what extent the "man" Jesus...

Re: Matt 5:10-12 - your reward is great in Heaven
So, Matt, are you saying that it should read "your reward is great in the Kingdom of Heaven" (meaning here now spiritually and later in the new earth?) Or are you saying that it should read "your reward is great with God who is in heaven?" (without any particular reference to now or later)

Matt 5:10-12 - your reward is great in Heaven
My eschatology assumes our final state to be not "in Heaven" but in the "new Earth" (even if we have some temporary existence as disembodied spiritual beings in Heaven). I've just been noticing that some of the blessings to Christians are for "rewards in Heaven." I've taken those as referring basica...

Modalism within the personhood -- where's Paidion when we need him ;) By the way, there was an excellent and very intriguing discussion of the Trinity on the Unbelievable (UK) radio broadcast this past week (available by podcast). http://www.premier.org.uk This week on Unbelievable : Can we trust th...

Temple Post-70AD
What happened to the temple after the war in 70AD? I read that the Babylonians destroyed it in sixth century, but I thought it had been destroyed since 70AD. Was it rebuilt?
