Re: Is Alice Cooper an argument for sovereign election?
Yeah, it does, Ian. Good article and interview. The other articles on that site are interesting too. Thanks.

Re: Is Alice Cooper an argument for sovereign election?
I don't see how his experience could be responsibly used to support either either view, as I understand them. Also, he is still alive. More than one celebrity became a Christian (or announced his Christianity) and then fell away, I think. It may be the same with Alice Cooper. I don't expect it or ho...

Re: Doctoral dissertation on Aion
I don't want to get too OT but... On the show (TNP, early Feb 2010), I think I understood Steve (you, if you're reading this :)) to refer to this current life as the testing/proving ground and the final judgement (when our Lord returns) as our "graduation". Normally, the real purpose and goal of all...

Re: The Coming Great Persecution
I think the article is a good reminder and I wouldn't disagree much with any of it. But I would not say that I believe or expect that it will happen, only that it might. Therefore, I would add this to his (good) practical suggestions for us: Try to prevent it from happening with Christ-like love, pr...

Re: Another Merger Post
Oh, The Problem of Pain . I assume I read it, but if so it's been a while. Thanks. I agree about not messing with people's foundations. That's is kind of my approach too now ( How to Discuss Hell with Others? thread). Aside, regarding Lewis' apparent believe in universal immortality: The largest chu...

Re: Doctoral dissertation on Aion
Thank you, Paidion. I'm browsing for info about it. There's plenty. Interesting. According to http://gospelhall.org/bible/bible.php?search=aidios&dict=vine&lang=greek#2 : "While aionios ... negatives the end either of a space of time or of unmeasured time, and is used chiefly where something future ...

Re: Doctoral dissertation on Aion
I would be interested in knowing what word or words used in N.T. Greek, if any, do convey our concept of eternal or eternity if aion does not. Thanks for the link. Maybe I'll be able to look for an answer in there.
