Re: How Does YEC Explain The Fossil Record?
Seer wrote: If the the flood really caused these fossils they should be intermingled. This was one of the pieces of evidence that steered them away from thinking the earth was young. Because they believed in a worldwide flood they were expecting to find fossils scattered in a somewhat chaotic fashi...

Re: How Does YEC Explain The Fossil Record?
A geologist friend of mine responded to this question via email from the YEC perspective... Regarding dinosaurs, although we have found a lot of dinosaur fossils they are still quite rare compared to the size of the earth. The same can be said for human fossils. So to find them together would be an...

Re: How Does YEC Explain The Fossil Record?
Jim, You asked a question, and I have answered to the best of my knowledge. If you do not find this answer adequate, you are at liberty to seek alternatives. Steve, perhaps I missed it. Where did you offer a reasonable explanation for why we don't find present day mammals in the fossil record with ...

Re: How Does YEC Explain The Fossil Record?
No apes, no men, no dog, no cats, no deer, no bears, no rabbits, squirrels, etc... This is a real problem for the flood model - perhaps even a defeater. Just to clarify, you mean for the young-earth creationist, worldwide flood model, right? It presents no problems for the old-earth creationist, "g...

Re: How Does YEC Explain The Fossil Record?
Jim, It seems that you missed part of Matt's observation, namely, that some modern animals are found before and alongside dinosaurs. Yes Steve, there are species that have remained relatively unchanged for literally millions of years, and we do find those alongside dinosaurs. Which is what you woul...

Re: How Does YEC Explain The Fossil Record?
The answer might not be satisfying to you... but it also might be satisfying to people more in the know and more educated on the subject to both of us. I did find it interesting in the article that there are fossils of some species found in strata BEFORE and DURING the dinosaur era.... that are liv...

Re: How Does YEC Explain The Fossil Record?
Here is the Answers in Genesis response to this question http://www.answersingenesis.org/articles/nab/human-and-dino-fossils-together Basically, their answer is that fossils are very rare, especially for mammals. They would, of course, not be surprised to find human and dinosaur fossils together......

Re: How Does YEC Explain The Fossil Record?
I did some googling and it appears mammals were extensively present in the fossil record along with Dinos. But they tended to be the smaller varieties due to the predatory pressures against the larger ones from the large dinos. When the dinos went away, the prey thrived and the larger ones flourish...

Re: How Does YEC Explain The Fossil Record?
I'm not a YEC. BUT it seems to me we don't find a lot of anything with dinosaurs. Aren't they (and humans) still relatively rare finds? Are you suggesting there aren't any mammals at all found in the fossil record during the dinosaurs' reign? I hadn't heard that extreme position. Sent from my iPhon...
