Re: Could Luke 20:38 support Universalism?
Thank you for your response. I have listened to your teaching on Revelation Chapter 20 and I can see how your view of the soul/body goes with that. In that teaching, you said that the first resurrection is when the believer converts or becomes born again. Thus, the Spirit of God coming into the pers...

Could Luke 20:38 support Universalism?
Hello Bro. Steve It is always good to have your insight on a biblical matter. Thomas Talbott in his book “The Inescapable Love of God” comes up with the same conclusion. The determining factor in the disposition of the sinner is the nature of God. He is an evangelical universalist, so of course, he ...

Re: The Afterlife
Paidion Luke 20:36 seems to support your belief. NASB “For they cannot even die anymore, because they are like angels, and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.” It seems that believers/saints are not like the angels until the resurrection. Whereas, the common evangelical belief is that t...

Paidion
Thank you for your responses. I am going to continue to study on subject (being/soul).
Homer
I have looked at a couple of threads and it appears that you and Paidion have talked about this quite a lot. What is your conclusion on the matter?

Re: Could Luke 20:38 support Universalism?
Hello Paidion You point out the second resurrection had not yet taken place in the account. But the first had. So wouldn't the saints, martyrs, and elders, have been already raised to life? Won't the "second resurrection" be the resurrection of the unrighteous? I have studied and studied Revelation....

Re: Could Luke 20:38 support Universalism?
Paidion I am going to summarize your understanding of soul and then ask you a question. Soul is the complete human. Many talking about it in scripture refer to as an aspect, but it is the whole person. When a person dies, he or she is put in a pause mode because the spirit or life has left the body....

Paidion
You talked about this subject (the concept of soul/being) on “Luke 20:38 Universalism” post. If you have more scripture arguments on this subject (soul/being) I would like to hear them.
Thanks

Just sad,
There is always more to learn and discussions in places like FB just don’t flow as well or go so deep: at least in my opinion.

A little off topic here,
This forum seems like it got a lot more interaction about five (5) years ago.
What happened?
