Re: Upcoming Election
Paidion, I think ultra conservatives stay away from the libertarian party mainly due to the conservative desire to support the war on drugs and involvement in foreign wars. I have heard many times someone say they like Ron Paul, but not his foreign policy. Many in the libertarian party also support ...

Sinalphile, Most all countries have a mixed economy. Parts of the economy are free and parts are socialized. In describing a country it is not all or nothing. It can have a variable portion of the economy that has been socialized. Countries can be more or socialist than others.

Re: Inequality
Jeff, Inequality refers to the widening gap between the super rich and middle class. Not between the middle class and the poor. That's not a "democrat" agenda. What exactly do you mean by the statement that it is "not a democrat agenda"? The Wells Fargo story is a great example. Millions in fraud. T...

They should have the freedom to discriminate, since it is their business, and should be free to operate it as they wish. However, that was not the issue in question. Whether they should be allowed by law or the Government to discriminate is a different matter. I have been thinking, perhaps incorrec...

@Dwight - There are of course numerous types of opportunities (many, many more than employment and citizenship). How do you approach deciding which opportunities a person must be compelled to offer to others on an basis of equality (e.g. employment) vs. those that are exempt from this requirement (e...

Not believing that there ought to be equal opportunity is tantamount to believing it's okay for an employer to discriminate. For example, .... Yes, it is tantamount to those things. My view is that all men should be free to form all their relationships on a voluntary, rather the coerced basis. Ther...

Paidion, I guess I am the first person then, for the answer is the latter. I hold the view that there should not be any law or regulation that would impose a requirement that men should be granted equal opportunities. Of course, the first statement you made is obviously true as men are born into thi...

I believe in equal opportunity for all. In what do you believe? Is the following what you believe?———"You can't find a job? If you really tried, and weren't so lazy, you could find one like everyone else! If I am rich, I deserve it—that's just the way it is. If you're poor—Tough luck! Don't expect ...

Dwight, Which side was God on - or which side was on God's side? Which of the two political groups are more or less closely aligned with "God's side" on policy matters (e.g. slavery) is not the point - but nonetheless I will address that issue later. I believe the relevant point in applying Romans 1...
