Re: And the point is what, exactly?

Brenden, so very sorry to hear of your loss. The human experience is indeed a messy one. Answers often fall short of being satisfactory. Aside from losing my own mother at age 17, I have, mercifully, suffered very little loss. All I can offer is my assurance that you are in my prayers. John Sent fro...

Re: Does God love all people unconditionally?

Homer, You seem to often be looking for one "silver bullet" verse that answers your specific question with laser accuracy. I don't have one for you re. the question you asked. I can't imagine how much bigger the "little book" would have to be to answer every possible question under every possible sc...

Re: Does God love all people unconditionally?

Robby, Steve got there before I did. And was much more thorough than I could have been. I was merely going to point out Paul's statement in Acts 17. Moral affinity or other, it doesn't make sense logically (to me) that God could hate billions of people and yet, still desire for them to be saved. Tha...

Re: Does God love all people unconditionally?

Robby, are you saying Jesus didn't die for the Pharisees? I think it's clear that people do "things" that cause God to "hate" them. I don't think that He just hates them for the sake of hating them. I don't know if you have children - I do. Sometimes I hate what they do but I have never hated them. ...

Re: Why not Universal Reconciliation?

Is Jesus suggesting that God was punishing those Galileans by putting them to death, and those eighteen persons on whom the tower fell? No. Quite the contrary. He clearly stated that they were no worse than any other sinners, and that other sinners would die too unless they repented. The fact is th...

Re: Free choice in next life

I am inclined to agree with Homer and Paidion. If men and women are willingly obedient to God, in this age, whilst the flesh needs to be subdued, I can't see how those same men and women would choose differently after being raised incorruptible. Consistent, loving obedience, as Paidion describes it,...

Re: Trinity.

Perhaps they see the futility of the discussion and have rather chosen to let me deal with this while they watch at a safe distance with field goggles.  Indeed, it appears futile. I posted a fair amount on this forum when I first joined. It took me a while to recognise that the people wh...

Re: Luke 21:22. Was All Bible Prophecy Fulfilled at AD 70?

Robby Young wrote, This is another reason why the Full Preterist position makes plenty of sense. We have copies of what, most likely, was spoken and written in the Hebrew language. What belongs, and what doesn't belong - and so on... all makes the point that YAHWEH's original Word for the eminent ti...

Jarrod,

I don't use a mobile device but I like the new theme. Much cleaner. Thanks for bringing it back.

Re: Something I have Noticed

Homer, You wrote, Please look at the definition of "explicit" before responding. Luke is the one who is explicit, as the caviling argumentation of "this age and that age" shows. I don't know how you can even say this. Just because the users of this forum happened to use Luke's account does not sugge...
