Re: The Flood
“For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into Tartarus and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world of the ungodl...
Re: The Flood
Partly to remove the half breeds: angels with human women having children. Those children became demons after they died in the flood. “Now it came about, when men began to multiply on the face of the land, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beaut...

Re: How is one saved?
no. all these questions are either answered in the early church or bible. which I was unaware of, until I got into Irenaeus (and believed he was right about it all) For example Sabbath is a choice of when you want to worship. James the Just used to keep the Sabbath and Festivals but was a Christian....

Re: How is one saved?
Chapter 9 is also helpful: Irenaeus - Against Heresies - Book 4 - Chapter 9 180AD CHAP. IX.—THERE IS BUT ONE AUTHOR, AND ONE END TO BOTH COVENANTS. 1. All things therefore are of one and the same substance, that is, from one and the same God; as also the Lord says to the disciples: “Therefore every ...

Re: How is one saved?
The Next Chapter is also helpful towards the early church interpretation of the NT: Irenaeus - Against Heresies - Book 4 - Chapter 13 180AD CHAP. XIII.—CHRIST DID NOT ABROGATE THE NATURAL PRECEPTS OF THE LAW, BUT RATHER FULFILLED AND EXTENDED THEM. HE REMOVED THE YOKE AND BONDAGE OF THE OLD LAW, SO ...

How is one saved?
I've heard different interpretations of how a person is saved. And what constitutes being saved. And that Jesus in the Gospels was under the "Old Covenant" which we are not to listen to, but only to the epistles for how to be saved. Which is sort of understandable and fair in my opinion. But is it t...

Re: Revelation 20:5 Confusion
helpful chapter from Early Church Fathers. helps snap it into focus. Irenaeus book 5 chapter 35. 180AD. CHAP. XXXV.—HE CONTENDS THAT THESE TESTIMONIES ALREADY ALLEGED CANNOT BE UNDERSTOOD ALLEGORICALLY OF CELESTIAL BLESSINGS, BUT THAT THEY SHALL HAVE THEIR FULFILMENT AFTER THE COMING OF ANTICHRIST, ...

Re: Predestination
Gotcha.
That's an important doctrine to get right to understand God better (foreknowledge, predestination/preappointing)
I had been puzzled on that for a while

Re: Predestination
Yeah I'm thinkin' now foreknowledge is not of all future exact whatevers
We literally have a free will I guess. I thought God somehow knew every future detail.
It's nice that way though. Freeing

Re: Predestination
I don't understand your response
If God knows everything but asks questions he already knows the answer to, that's peculiar.
We dont know everything so we aren't made like him in that area.
