Perhaps so.

Re: Elders and the Husband of One Wife

Many or most of the traits don't seem to be specific to the role of an elder. I'm not aware of any role in the church for someone who is inhospitable or given to wine. OTOH, someone who is a bad teacher and a novice could still serve perfectly in a non-elder role. So if "husband of one wife" just me...

Re: The Gay Debate: The Bible and Homosexuality

For what it's worth: I'm a 33 year old man. I've never married, and I've never had any kind of sexual relationship with anyone. It seems likely that I never will.

The passages in Romans/Corinthians are clear enough.

Re: Usury

I see what you're saying. I often think of voluntary borrowing/lending as just a kind of partnership and investment, and it seems like a good thing in general for an economy. Why would it be illegal under OT law then given the likely consequences that you point out? More info about "usury" at that t...

Re: Calls that go clash

This is an old thread, but I'm new to the place so it's new to me. I'm reminded me of the great debate between Steve and the 8 (or perhaps 10) year old girl. Debate topic: Has the tribulation already hitted? :D Funny stuff. I wish I could remember which program it was in. I enjoy it when callers dis...

Re: How to Discuss Hell with Others?

Thank you all for the input. As mentioned, I talked about this a little with my mother (and I didn't mention that she said little b/c she had a bad case of laryngitis at the time!), but I haven't talked about it with a group of Christians who have similar (but different :)) hell views. It helps.

Re: How to Discuss Hell with Others?

One might ask one's self why is the topic coming up - the answer to that would determine the rest of the conversation. ~ Jepne That is good. I like that. This morning I was listening to one of Wayne Grudem's lectures during which he began extolling the virtues of telling people they're going to hel...

Re: OT Law vs Grace...

Random thoughts: 1. I do reckon that the punishments are meant as some kind of example or illustration for us. 2. What was the best means of implementing the death penalty back then? I doubt that the method of carrying out the execution (burning or stoning) is of any importance. It was probably just...
