You look and sound exactly like I pictured you. That's kind of eerie, isn't it?
Thanks, i think.

Re: Why the atonement?
He was our substitute yet if Jesus forgave sins before his crucifixion, why do we need a substitute since God can simply forgive sins arbitrarily. Jesus was "slain from the foundation of the world", which I take to mean that all sins, before or after his earthly crucifixion in linear time and space...

Re: Why the atonement?
I think when Jesus said "This is my new covenant" is when the Law of Moses was replaced. I think Jesus' death on the cross was for the forgiveness of all sins for all time (past, present & future). I think the reason the Jews didn't have a direct relationship with God is because they rejected one w...

Why the atonement?
I've read the theories about the atonement He was our substitute Forgiveness Empowerment over sin He was our example Conquered the devil They all have elements of truth but also neither do any seem to really be a complete answer. Re forgiveness, it struck me that Jesus forgave sins before the atonem...

Re: When did Jesus realize His deity?
TK, I see it pretty much as you do. He referred to Himself as "the son of man" more often than He did "the son of God". But even "son of Man" means more then just an ordinary person and could be a messianic allusion (Dan 7.13). However since we are told he was like us in every way (Heb 4 i think) i...

Re: A QUESTION or two TO UNIVERSALISTS
RV wrote: THIRD REQUEST( ) I wrote: So why the urgency of the apostles? Jesus told them what to do and they were doing it. Next question might be why did Jesus tell them to preach if everyone may be saved anyway? Perhaps because it was time to start to reclaim the kingdoms of this world from Satan ...

Re: A QUESTION or two TO UNIVERSALISTS
How firmly convinced are you of the truth of your position? Thank you for your interesting question Suzana. I'm not totally convinced that UR is true but i think it's a valid possibility as is CI or the most likely which is somewhere between the two , meaning the majority of mankind will ultimately...

Re: Consulting or calling up the dead
I've never thought of the issue looking at it from God's perspective, that's an interesting question. Perhaps from God's perspective (if soul sleep was the reality), it may be a matter of treating everyone equitably - no one is going to sneak in a few thousand years of paradise before anyone else, ...
