Re: Universalism and 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12

Hi Steve, I believe you were travelling when I started this thread, and I was hoping you or a traditional universalist would reply. Anyway, I noticed just now that on the old forum, February 17, 2004, you wrote: I tend to believe that "free will" will continue as a part of human nature, even in what...

Re: The pastor who came back from hell (and heaven!)

As I was reading the story, I first had a positive impression, then I became skeptical, then I read elsewhere of the connection to Benny Hinn and Kenneth Copeland and that did it for me.

Re: The Lord's Eucharist Meal

Priestly1 wrote: Paul is very clear in his Letter to Corinth's Christians.....The Holy Eucharist IS the Body and Blood of Christ. He held it to be a desecrating sacriledge to come before the LORD's Table in "an unworthy state ." Reformed Cristianity and Anabaptists have changed this to in "an unwort...

Universalism and 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12

I was reading this passage today in my garage sale find - a New Testament translated from Aramaic (cost me $1 :D ). Anyway, I noticed the implications regarding the Universalist claims. Here is the passage from the NKJV: 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 (New King James Version) 9. The coming of the lawless on...

Regarding Christians and the Ten Commandments

I have felt for some time that Christians who engage in lawsuits over the Ten Commandments being posted in public places come perilously close to disrespecting Christ. Why aren't they arguing for the Sermon on the Mount? Anyway, as an apology for my position, I put together the following. I seek any...

Re: Is it more important not to say it?

RV, You have got my prayers. Timothy was given some good advice by Paul: 2 Timothy 2:23-26 (New International Version) 23. Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. 24. And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to eve...

Re: My Case for eternal Hell

Hi Steve7150, You wrote: I think the wages of sin refers to spiritual death " for death reigned from Adam to Moses " surely can't mean physical death which reigned after Moses until Jesus returns. IMO you have misunderstood Paul. I think what he was saying was that in spite of the Law having not yet...

The Age of Accountability and God's wrath

Hi Steve, You made the following statement on the thread about hell: When you say that a person under wrath should not expect undeserved grace, I have to ask what condition you and I were in before we came to Christ? Were we not "children of wrath, even as others"? As I understand your personal test...
