Re: Is this where I should post about aliens?

Perhaps they do. Perhaps they don't. That's something we can only guess at. I personally can't even say whether other humans have consciousness. All I know for sure is that I have it. All any of us can say is that we have some sort of awareness. For all I know, I could be the only conscious being in...

Re: Is this where I should post about aliens?

 Sure TK. Honestly, it's something we are all "too dumb" to understand. Nobody "understands" it but that's why I think it's so compelling. In fact, for me, this topic is what renewed my faith nearly 10 years ago and continues to do so daily. Here's a quick 12 minute overview by Dr. J.P. Morelan...

Re: The Vision of Peter in Acts 10:9-16

Hi Ian, This is a fair question. The same could be asked of the penalty for breaking the Sabbath. Yet, as I'm sure you are already aware, Jesus said the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. Likewise, Paul points out that laws concerning treatment of animals in the OT were actually inte...

Re: Is this where I should post about aliens?

I do think Christian leaders should begin to discuss this issue so as to prepare folks for the possibility and perhaps probability of alien life being discovered in the near future. Hi TK, I agree with you on this point. Just curious what you think an effective approach along these lines would look...

Re: The "little horn" and "the man of lawlessness"

Hi all, It's been several months since this last post. Based upon Doug's referral above, I've done considerable reading of the research of Adam Maarschalk. He does have some interesting ideas on this topic and makes some good points. I'm still evaluating his work so I can't say I'm completely convin...

Re: The Days of Creation

The Bible says death came through the sin of Adam and Eve. The wages of sin is death. Evolution says no, that death already existed for billions of years before man even came on the scene. So evolution basically rejects the fall of man into sin and the consequence of death. Just to balance comment ...

Re: Whose Son was Sacrificed?

Hi Matt, I think Steve's theory fits well here too from a typological/prophetic stand point. Strange as it may sound, I think there is compelling evidence that Edom itself was used by God throughout the Old Testament as a powerful foreshadowing of Christ. For starters, there is a close association o...

Re: Parenting (Mainly on being a Father)

Hi Homersteve, My heart goes out to you. Please know that I will be praying for you and your situation. I have family that are going through similar times at the moment. In your original post, you asked for some resources to help you with your approach to fatherhood. That was years ago now, but if y...

Re: John 6:44

Thanks for these thoughts. It is very helpful and it has definitely given me thoughts to consider. I'm glad to hear that. :D The words "drawn" in John 6:44 and "granted" in v65 are probably paramount in this discussion. I used to think this as well but now I'm not so sure. In general I think we hav...

Re: John 6:44

Hi remade, It's been helpful for me to think of it this way. Only people who come to God of their own free will are God's. God gives Christ all of those who are God's to give. People come first to God by listening and obeying. If someone has truly done this, then God draws them to Christ. That's why...
