Re: 1 Corinthians 2:14
Sean, How we view these things, our assumptions if you will, will inform our interpretation of these passages. So my question for you and Darin is simple - why did you accept the gospel while your lost neighbor rejected it? I know may people who have heard a clear presentation of the gospel - yet r...

Re: Found the new forum
Welcome back! Yes, it was not an evil conspiracy unless we were all conspired against together by the demons who wanted to keep us apart.

Re: 1 Corinthians 2:14
I mean, in the end, what is the difference between you and your neighbor who dies unblessed? By the way, maybe this gets at the root of the disagreement between us -- you assume the neighbor who dies (presumably unsaved) was not blessed. I do not concede this point -- I believe that we are all bles...

Re: 1 Corinthians 2:14
Hello Darin, That's what I mean. Your whole post is "I" "I" and "I" - you are making my point, it's all about you . Personally, I give all credit to God - for my growth in grace as well as my initial salvation. As Luther said - all my sin is mine and all my righteousness is His... I mean, in the en...

Re: 1 Corinthians 2:14
Hey Sean, I think we both made our points on the Corinthians passage, so I'll let that part go for now. But if faith is something you gin up for yourself then you do have room for boasting. If it is a gift from God, then all boasting is removed. But hey I understand, it's part of the noetic effects...

I also noticed that I'm being logged-out even as I spend my time composing my text. I ended up retyping the text of my post. =( Yes, greetings -- you might want to compose your text outside of the forum and copy/paste into a message after it's composed. That's what I end up doing much of the time.

Re: Interesting Vid
You may get a different response from someone else, but I believe that there certainly was a rapture of the 1st century Christians. Not only do we have Scripture that points to a definite rapture but we have the exact reasoning that futurists use against it being a 1st century event in that there i...

Welcome to LDS members
I heard Karen on the show yesterday suggesting she would like to participate here -- I'm just wanting to extend a heart-felt welcome and to encourage her to sign up. One thing I would like to point out to you, Karen, if you read this -- you mentioned that you would like to join other "groups" here. ...

Re: Interesting Vid
Thx darin. how then, does a full preterist deal with the Thessalonians passage where paul seems to be describing a physical rapture and being caught up in the air? TK That's a good question -- I'm not a full preterist, so I'm not sure, but I suspect they would spiritualize it somehow. From what I h...

Re: Interesting Vid
just as an aside, if i understand correctly, the preterist position is that the event depicted in the video will never happen in the future, because it already happened in the past? Not exactly (as I understand it). Most "full" preterists I think would believe that there is no physical rapture at a...
