I'm not sure I can count how many "missing links" have been found in the last 30 years. All of them seem to get front page headlines. Then a few years later they get scant coverage when they are found to be not so missing.

I agree with the comments so far and I would only add that even if drinking a glass of wine is okay for me but it isn't for someone I currently with then that could also be a sin if I know it will cause problems for the other person.

murf- do you believe the object is really 12.9 billion light years away? TK I must have misunderstood your original question. I don't beleive the earth is 12.9 billion years old. and I don't believe time (at least for man) had begun 12.9 billion years ago. I do belive the picture was too blob-like ...
