Re: Angel of the Lord

Paidion, These are the texts I examined,....maybe I'm not seeing it. (?) Please underline or make bold the article pertaining to angel. ...

Re: Angel of the Lord

Greetings Darin,
The article isn't in the Greek so it should read "an angel".

Re: What are your thoughts concerning universalism?

In the Old Testament Septuagint, a translation of the Old Testament into Greek around 300 B.C., the word “aiōnios” is used for the time that Jonah spent in the belly of the fish. Paidion, is the LXX usinng "αιωνιοι" to describe Jonah's time spent in the fish? Seemingly. Here's how the NKJV translat...

Re: What are your thoughts concerning universalism?

Which one of these statements are true? 1.Unless one assumes (foolishly) that everything described as aionios is endless, there is no suggestion in Matthew 25:46 that aionios life and aionios punishment are of the same duration. 2. Unless one assumes (foolishly) that everything described as aionios ...

Re: What are your thoughts concerning universalism?

As you know, the writers were aware of the Greek word for "eternal" (αἰδιος) and when they meant "eternal" they used it. Unless their definition of αἰώνιος and αἰών included eternal and everlasting. ἀΐ́διος,αἰών, αἰώνιος all come from ἀεί - perpetual, always, forever, continually. (I am aware of th...

Re: What are your thoughts concerning universalism?

Was the apostle Paul a universalist? He wrote: ...we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe (1 Tim 4:10). If God is the Savior of all people, then He is the Savior of ALL people! So how can we teach that He is the Savior of only SOME pe...

Re: What are your thoughts concerning universalism?

Paidion, Are you saying that Jesus taught that after the judgement the punishment of the wicked and the life of the righteous both eventually come to an end? Perhaps you believe Matt 25:31-46 refers to something other than the final judgment? Isn't the root word of αἰών "ἀεὶ" and doesn't it mean per...
