Re: A 12 year-old girl seeks answers about LGBT ideology

I recently had a talk with my 13-year-old son about this very issue, after he announced to me that half his friends at school are LGBT. A thorough explanation, such as the one Steve wrote out, would fly over his head. I had to think of a way to respond in very simple terms. Here is how I'm coming at...

Re: Was Jesus a Racist?

Could it be that Jesus was merely testing her? Or perhaps he was using the occasion to shame his Jewish hearers for having less faith than a gentile woman? The encounter does a good job of illustrating how the humble are blessed while those who consider themselves to be "God's favorites" are often l...

Re: A new movie... from me

Mike, we signed with a distributor last week. They will be rolling the film out to 14 or so platforms over the course of the year and there will be a DVD/Blu-Ray release as well, I think. They said the first place it'll pop up is on Amazon rentals, hopefully by April.

Re: Holy Mystery of Love

Jesus talked about people (especially professional clergy) who pray in such as a way as to draw attention or admiration to themselves or "be seen by men." This is probably what Jesus had in mind. But I also don't know this gentleman's heart so I could be wrong. I do tend to be cynical of most things...

Re: A new movie... from me

Steve, I wish I had made "To End All Wars" but I'm a different guy. That was David Cunningham, who is in fact the son of YWAM's founder. Sorry to disappoint! This is my first "real" movie, so nobody knows me yet. Hopefully it'll stay that way. But you do know my sister, Jessica. She runs an orphanag...

A new movie... from me

Hey, it's been a while! I had a lot of good times on this forum, but it's been pretty quiet compared to the old days. Some of you may know that I moonlight as a writer/director so I wanted to share some info on my new movie. It's not a Christian film (I don't make those), but it's replete with bibli...

Re: Did Paul Disagree With Jesus About Anger?

I once heard Bruxy Cavey address this by first quoting the full passage: “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil. He then said that the way to be angry and not sin is prescribed here as not letting the sun go down on your wrath. In other word...

Re: THE 16 COMMANDMENTS

Thank you, Jason. How do you think that principle would be applied if someone is about to harm you or your family? Steve once said that you are to love your enemy, but not at the expense of the innocent party. My thinking would be similar, so I would defend my family from harm if there was no other...

Re: THE 16 COMMANDMENTS

Paidion, I think Jesus said there was only one command which summarized all the law and the prophets. So I'd say your list contains examples of that one command, but is not exhaustive when it comes to its application. I remember a sermon by Greg Boyd where he talked about principles versus rules. On...
