Maybe this answers your questions, from Malcolm Lavender's book Greek Grammar and Syntax Versus Calvinism, p. 272-274: Matthew 23:37 Jesus says in the Matthew passage: “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one killing the prophets and stoning the ones sent to her, how often I willed (ēthelēsa) to gather your...

There is nothing to "slugfest" about Jug. I miscited nothing. The fact that Christ said "your children" does not help the Calvbinist's case, nor does it CHANGE ANYTHING. It is a pointless, irrelevant diversion to hide the fact that here we have a LAMENT of how strongly Christ wanted to gather the Je...

James White, aping john Owen, says the Christ was speaking to the leaders, and makes a big deal about all that. It is irrelevant and a smokescreen. Christ said "I would...and ye would not". But moreso, he also said "HOW OFTEN I WOULD...and ye would not". But that is not all, Christ also lamented " O...

Jug, I believe if christ said to be perfect, that is what he expects, and he is not an Egyptian taskmaster, requiring us to build bricks without straw. If we walk in love, we are perfect. Love fulfills the law. Sometimes its so simple, its hard! We miss it. If we walk in the Spirit, we WILL NOT fulf...

David, it seems you give yourself liberties you wish to deny me. After all, you can say all kinds of things about me and my posts, which I find to be totally off base, and you do not like it when your doctrine and these kinds of comments from you are confronted. How convenient for you. As far as Job...

They don't believe the threats are REAL, just a ploy to trick the elect to stay on course. The problem then is what happens when some of the elect find out the threats are not real and write books telling others so that the Arminian point of view is rejected? I speak as a man, as if God would ever u...

David, it seems to me it is your post to me that reflects a "flying off the handle" and is out of control. My post is straight-forward and blunt--yes, , but there is no "long rant". That misrepresentation right there is the "sin" you need to be concerned with--bearing false witness. I am sorry that ...

If God did not ordain that I developed cancer, then how should I look at my cancer? How did this befall me? Did God allow certain autonomous events to happen, and the random or chance outcome was cancer? If God knew I was going to get cancer, and He allowed it, then I wonder if that is much differe...

Tart, it is no surprise to me for you to call the truth that I posted garbage. No surprise at all. The level of ignorance is astounding.

That supposed exchange between Wesley and this man seems farfetched, and of course, the Calvinist comes out looking good. Having read a lot from Wesley, his debates with various Calvinists, and other autobiographical material, I highly doubt this exchange took place, and if it did, it is incomplete....
