Hello, Steve, Thank you for your response. It's nice to hear from you. Emett, if the Son "will be made subject" then what was his position before he, will be made subject? An interesting question, Steve - but pretty much not my problem, because (as you might expect) I do not take Paul's Christologic...

Hello, JC, Thank you for your response. I still owe you one in our dialogue thread... This is a curious passage because it says the Son will hupotasso (arrange himself under) Theos. Does this mean the Son is less than the Father because of this arrangment? Paul uses this phrase in Col. 3:18 to speak...

I Corinthians 15:28 and the divinity of Jesus
Hello, I am curious how persons who believe in the divinity of Jesus would interpret the following verse: and when everything might be made subject to him [i.e., Jesus] , then also he, the son, will be made subject to the One making everything subject to him, that God may be all in all. [/i] ( I Cor...

In my experience, being a minister can be like being a doctor - you're on call every hour of every day. You can be called to the hospital or faced with a needful counseling session at any given time, regardless of your family activities or other engagements. In my opinion, it is desirable for a mini...

Hello, Derek,

I have heard an idea along the lines that ghosts are some manner of "echo" of normal phenomena. To speculate, perhaps some sort of electromagnetic impression of a person or something reverberating later in time due to unusual conditions. Out of my field of knowledge, but possible, I suppose. Shlamaa...

Ely - thanks for the interesting post. For what it is worth, of course, such an item does not demonstrate the theological truth of Jeremiah any more than verification of a reference to a minor undersecretary would demonstrate the theological truth of the LDS Doctrine & Covenants (to fabricate a para...

Hello, Paidion, Thank you for your posting. What do you make of this as a test for a woman's infidelity, in cases where a fit of jealousy comes upon her husband? Just make her drink polluted water which will normally make anyone very sick. But if she is innocent it won't hurt her! It seems eisegetic...

For what it is worth, some thoughts of mine on the matter: The basic issue at hand involves the fertility cults of the region. Neighbors of the Israelites pursued religion that focused on human and agricultural fertility, and the attending rituals could involve temple prostitution. In order to hedge...

Hello, Michelle, Thank you for your kind response :D . I agree that "lover" does not necessarily imply and illicit status, but, to me at least, it seems private and personal. Which is an asset of the paradigm, I think. The verses in Ezekiel make me squeamish -- perhaps it's because of my upbringing....
