Re: Steve Gregg Responds to Jack Hibbs

I was also disappointed to see that a copyright claim was issued by real life ministries against this video, but am glad the mp3 copy still remains. I think real life ministries would not prevail in any copyright infringement lawsuit on the grounds of "fair use", but it would be hard to justify und...

Re: 2020 NASB update will be gender inclusive

To me, there is a big difference between trying to communicate what the original authors meant and trying to be politically correct. While there is overlap in some cases, the motivation is different. What about when rampant political correctness in the culture influences how people perceive norms o...

Re: 2020 NASB update will be gender inclusive

While I prefer the translators to just translate words and trust me to do the work of understanding how words were used in the ancient world, I also recognize that the majority of bible readers won't be doing that work. Brethren/Adam in those cases do indeed refer to both men and women collectively...

2020 NASB update will be gender inclusive

https://opened-heart.com/2017/12/11/nasb-2018-2019-release-news/ Gender Specificity One of the big, emotionally charged issues in Bible translation today is how to translate the Greek word ἀδελφοί (brothers). Updated releases of the New International Version (2011), the Christian Standard Bible (201...

Re: 31.7. expanding broadcasts

I haven't posted in a while but often check back in to read. Can I suggest the possibility that grayham is a troll? I have been posting on internet message boards since about the year 2000, and there are a lot of people out there who are not sincere, who take on a persona in a fake account to create...

Re: When was the Trinity revealed?

Well Paul was pretty upset about the reverence being shown to Jesus Yes, they were proclaiming Jesus to be the Christ/Messiah, no other record otherwise. It would be sufficient enough for persecution. Indeed look at Stephen's message that Paul was present at and was in agreement with the crowd that...

Re: Foreknowledge = Determinism? And God's Character.

Thanks, robbyyoung for bringing up universal reconciliation. When you say that this is more of a question concerning man’s ultimate end against God‘s righteous judgment, character, and will you hit the nail right on the head. When I wrote the opening post for this thread, this is what I had in mind....

Re: Foreknowledge = Determinism? And God's Character.

Question for you Si: Which of the following two scenarios do you believe is more difficult to accept logically: 1) "At the time of creation, God foreknew what would happen, yet is not responsible for all that happens." (non-Calvinist position) 2) "God controls 100% of the choices a man makes, yet m...

Re: Foreknowledge = Determinism? And God's Character.

Homer, I certainly appreciate your use of Scripture, but we all use our logic and human reason to make things fit together, whether we are trying to harmonize two verses, or trying to make sense of the big picture. Arminianism and Calvinism are both man-made systems that use a logical framework to s...
