Church correction using an elder and a newer believer to travel to other churches
I seem to recall a hearing or reading that the way that churches should ensure that they haven't developed their own false doctrines was to send both an elder (or one well verse in their local churches beliefs) along with someone who the elder respects but doesn't know the local churches doctrines a...

Re: Asking for prayers?
Interesting question. The NKJV has a slightly different take on it: So the Lord relented from the harm which He said He would do to His people. I think having God change His mind would go against other scripture wouldn't it? I kind of view that passage as God teaching Moses using a bit of reverse ps...

Re: Asking for prayers?
Thank you that is well thought out. Yes, there were two concerns. One is that pastors need to use care that they aren't "playing favorites". Surely isn't that being a worker of inequity? In the bible I can not think of any prayers where someone prayed for things that weren't already known to be God'...

Re: Asking for prayers?
Thank you. Yes Colossians 4:3 is a good example of what I was looking for. So it does certainly seem right to ask others to pray that God use us for His Kingdom. I however see people ask for prayers to pass a test, get back with their wife or girlfriend, etc. What prompted this was pastor asked for ...

Asking for prayers?
Is there any scripture that suggest that we should ask for others to pray for us? I see Christians do this and even pastors. Is there any scriptures to support it? Aren't we to deny ourselves? Isn't our goal to become selfless Love? How can we deny ourselves and then turn around and ask others to pr...

Re: Jesus had Incorrect Opinions?
... I have often questioned his judgment in not telling his parents he was staying behind in Jerusalem to argue with the priests. I don’t think it amounted to sin but perhaps rather a case where he should have known that his parents would worry about him missing for a couple of days. I think there ...

Paidion,
If your point is that God is more the same in more ways then my bible analogy then I agree.
Thanks,
Craig

Re: Jesus the mediator
Maybe there is something more to this that I miss. I don't see how this is confusing. I see it like this. Pick your favorite version of the bible. Make 3 copies of it. One dwells in heaven and is everywhere as well, one came down to earth and became our savior, and one dwells within all Christians t...

Re: Destroying The Righteous With The Wicked
... I agree with the righteous, wicked, and innocent argument, but the innocent could have also been brought out of the city “out of mercy to Lot”. But, God clearly chose not to do it, therefore I must accept His purpose and judgments. Again, these are hard truths that happen throughout the earth o...
