Re: Born Again or Begotten Again?

Thanks, Paidion for your response. I see now in looking at it again (in Biblehub) that 'achri' is used in its Greek text. I must have picked up the 'epi' from the word translated completion. I am comfortable with the word until, and the notion that whatever else takes place on the day of Christ Jesu...

Re: Born Again or Begotten Again?

I was looking at Phil 1:6-7 recently because I was confused about some translations which use the word 'until' the day of Christ Jesus, not 'at the day..'. In many, if not all othe uses of the word 'epi' there seems to be an indication of a time separation between the two events. If so then the comp...

Re: Where Is Everybody?

I do not know where everyone is, but I suspect the 'Active Topics' option on the board index has left to try and find them.
Hope it returns very soon.

Re: Paul...the CHIEF SINNER???

I guess my question is - If you believe that Paul truly meant to say that he was currently the "Chief Sinner" - what did he mean by that? Did he mean that there were no sinners (saved or unsaved) worse than him? I think it's again a scenerio where we as westerners read literally and don't take into...

I dont actually have any example. I appreciate your thoughts about the question. Interesting.
My pastor once asked rhetorically whether Jesus cut any boards too short in the carpentry shop.

Re: Does "Holy" Mean "Set Apart"?

Good question. Having been raised in a holiness church, I was often of the impression that it took two trips to the altar to get the full salvation package. Trip one gave me justification - forgiveness of sins, and trip two (entire) sanctification - cleansing of the 'old man, the carnal nature. Simp...

Re: The Afterlife

So, as I understand it, we will not go to heaven after we die until we are raised to life in the resurrection. I would be pleased to read any thoughts you may have about these matters. I believe some go to heaven upon death and others don't. Here is the way I see it. Those who are martyred and thos...

Re: Debate "Is the Sabbath Binding in the New Covenant?"

For some time I have wanted to enquire of a seventh-day enthusiast where it was found in the Bible that the international date-line was declared to be set in the Pacific Ocean. If it had been set down through the Atlantic Ocean, then, without any changes to the observance in Jerusalem, the sabbath i...

Re: Eternal Life and Salvation

hi Dwight, We may indeed need clocks in heaven. My comment was more of a comparison than a definitive statement. Maybe I have been guilty of developing my theology from the hymn book - 'When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound and time shall be no more...' When the beheaded ones ask the question, it...
