Most nonbelievers I've known see "faith" and "blind faith" as synonyms. Faith is the place where reason is absent. But I see what I believe as being reasonable. So I tend to substitute the word "theology" or maybe "trust" when I'm interacting with nonbelievers.

Perhaps the punishment for the wicked is eternal, but the wickedness in a person isn't. Once he/she leaves the wickedness category, he/she leaves the punishment as well.

I understand you, Si, but I think Homer would say that God even though God knew in advance all the evil choices that have made, that foreknowledge does not make God responsible for those evil choices. Calvinism requires that we believe that both God and Man have true free will with the same action. Calvinism calls this a mystery, but it's actually a rather blatant contradiction. Therefore I cannot accept this. (to go with the thread's example, God ordained inalterably that I would have the turkey...
