Re: Natural Evil a Retroactive Effect of the Fall of Man?
It strikes me that some variation of this is very intuitively plausible and answers a lot of difficult questions. Yet, if one keeps going with the logic—evolution itself could be a result of the fall and curse of sin. This seems reinforced when one thinks about the principles of evolution—selfish do...

Re: The Democrat Party Is Finished?
I'm not condemning anyone. I am presenting facts, which you obviously reject out of hand in your adulation of Trump. I will say no more after this post. I don't have to. The truth will come out as the people of United States find out to their chagrin the ramifications of having this man as presiden...

Re: Transliteration of Upsilon
In Koine, it doesn't ever have a Y sound as far as I know. It is either "oo" in Erasmian or "ee" in Modern/Reconstructed.Homer wrote:What rule or rules are most useful to determine whether upsilon has the U or Y sound in Koine Greek?

Hi Pete, If we follow Paul's reasoning in Romans 13 it seems that the rulers must be submitted to if they are carrying out God's purpose, which makes it difficult to either secede or overthrow them while being in God's will. And seceding involves taking land that in some sense belongs to the state....

I really want to think so. It fits at least in my Arminian belief.Paidion wrote:That's a good question, Dizerner. I, for one, certainly did not answer it. Do you suppose Paul, the writer, may have wanted to downplay God's part in it by not directly pointing to Him as the active cause?

Re: Calvinism and the Middle Voice
I read it, Homer. The middle voice can be a rather complex matter. Here's the way I understand it: First , the middle voice is not reflexive. It would be incorrect to translate it as "having prepared themselves for destruction." Secondly , the classic use of the middle involved self-interest for th...

Re: 10/25 Afternoon show - Re: voting
Certainly violence was always there, but it has been American policies which have upset the balance that kept that violence in check, and American policies which have created the environment for the greatest church persecution I have ever been alive for. Was it really in check though. Now we are fo...
